GeneXus uses Transactions to create a Knowledge Base from which a Data Base structure is designed for storing your Application’s Data. The Data Base consists of Tables (usually called files) and access paths (called Indexes), and is designed using third normal form.
Each table gets its default name from the name of the transaction originating it. The name of the base table of a one-level transaction will be the transaction name plus the root name. If a transaction has more than one level, the corresponding subordinated table names will be a concatenation of the following characters in the transaction name and the respective Levels.
A table is subordinated to another table when there is an N-1 relation between them.
