Pattern Instance File

Unofficial Content

For each situation or instance to which we want to apply a pattern, an 'instance file' will have to be created with the specific information of that instance in particular (e.g. attributes to be shown, etc.).

Each 'instance file' is an XML file with the specific data of the instance. It has a hierarchical structure, starting from the root node (usually named with the pattern name) and many subordinated nodes. Each node has a set of properties.

The patterns usually provide a functionality to create 'instance file(s)' by default, and then, if necessary they can be edited with the instance file editor .
