GeneXus 9.0 Installation and Activation

Installation

There follows the detailed description of the minimum requirements to install GeneXus 9.0.

Hardware Requirements


Processor 500-megahertz (MHz) Intel Pentium-class
Memory a minimum of 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM memory (256 MB recommended)
Hard disk a minimum of 50 MB of disk space for the installation of the Development Environment, plus an average of 10 MB for each generator to be installed. To generate GeneXus applications you will need additional space or a shared disk unit to create the knowledge bases.
Video 800 x 600 or higher resolution with 256 colors.


Software Requirements


Microsoft Windows with NT technology; Microsoft Windows 2000 or higher version. If you are using Windows NT, you must install service pack 6a or later.
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or higher Redistributable Package
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or later.



Activation

For a quick view of the steps required to authorize the version and/or transfer the keys of previous versions, refer to: Steps for the authorization with GXProtection.

When authorizing GeneXus 9.0 version, you can also use previous versions (8.0, 7.5, 7.0 and 6.1) without the need to authorize or transfer the licenses. For this it is necessary to do the following:


If you use centralized licenses (installed in a server), you will have to install GeneXus Protection Server Version 5.1 or later to be able to activate the keys.

To know the GeneXus Protection Server version installed, you can see how does the Control Panel description appear in Add or Remove Programs. If it does not detail GeneXus Protection Server 5.1, you must remove the version and install the new one.
