|Base Docker image for this Dockerfile
This is the base image on which the new Docker image will be created.
The syntax is [<Docker Registry>]<base image name>[:<Tag>]
- Docker Registry is empty by default and usually corresponds to 'https://index.docker.io/v1/' . Write 'docker info' in a command prompt to know which Registry is the default.
- Docker image name is the image name itself (e.g. 'tomcat')
- Tag is the specific docker tag assigned to that image (e.g. '8.5-jre8-alpine')
Reference: To find public docker images of tomcat, for example, refer to https://hub.docker.com/_/tomcat/.
