Installation

Following you will find the steps required to install GXplorer 6.0\GXquery 3.0.

  1. If you installed some GXplorer\GXquery Io Beta version, uninstall it first from the Add\Remove program section.
  2. Install the product executing the associated Setup. Check the following document for requirements.
  3. Check the Activation section below to activate the product.

Activation

The steps to be followed for the authorization are the following:

  1. Execute GeneXus License Manager located in the programs menu.
  2. Press Select Computer and indicate where the license will reside. The options are: Local for local licenses or Remote for centralized licenses (1).
  3. Press Authorize, select the Request License option and continue with the wizard steps to request the key. The request may be done via Web (automatically) or you may generate a file with the Site Codes of all products and send it via e-mail to your distributor.
  4. Once you have received the file with gxa extension with the Site Keys, copy the file to the directory of the PC where the keys will reside and execute the .gxa file (see step 2). After a while, a screen will be displayed indicating the operation status. You can also activate the keys through License Manager, by pressing the Authorize button and selecting the Enter Licenses option. In the following screen of the wizard you will be able to choose between activating the keys from the file or entering the keys (Site Key) manually.
  5. In case of GXplorer\GXquery and GXplorer\GXquery Lite products, their users must be nominated through the Allowed Users button. Users assigned to licenses must be those that use the product and that are therefore added from the Settings utility. One of them will be the Supervisor User, and this must be indicated during the installation.

(1) Centralized Licenses: if you want to keep the licenses on a centralized manner, you will have to install the GeneXus Protection Server 5.3 or higher version in a Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/2003 server. The feature of it is to assign licenses to any network client, independently of where is the product installed (on a local PC, on the server itself or on a different server). The centralized licenses allow any network user to use the product from different PCs without the need of transferring the license
