Lets you specify a storage area for table indexes. Its use depends on the DBMS you have selected and its possibilities, and whether or not the property "Storage area" was specified at an index level:

If the DBMS allows a unique storage area for all table indexes (for example, DB2/Common Servers) then all indexes of a table will be stored in the area specified by the Table/Indices Storage area property (or by the property Default Indices Storage Area if the property is not set to a value), regardless of whether or not the "Storage area" property was defined at an index level for some or all table indexes.

In case the DBMS allows table indexes to be stored in different areas, the value of this property is considered the “default value”. By this we mean: if a value is assigned to the "Storage area" property at an index level then that value will be considered. On the other hand (no value was specified for the "Storage area" property at an index level) the value assigned to the Table/Indices Storage Area property is considered.
