Scope

Generators: .NET, .NET Framework, Cobol, Java, RPG
Level: Version

Description

This property sets the maximum length of characters that will be considered when determining the uniqueness of object names. For example, if you set this property to 20, GeneXus will only consider the first 20 characters of the object names when checking their uniqueness.

The length of the meaningful object name must be between 6 and 128 characters.

The Default Value is 128.

This property is at version level.

To make changes, you have two options: access the KB Explorer or go to the Preferences. In either of these places, click on the corresponding version, which by default carries the name of the Knowledge Base. In this case, the KB is called TravelAgency.

Notes:

  • When using Cobol, Visual FoxPro (dbfs) or RPG Generator, the maximum value is 7.
  • Remember that there can't be two Objects with the same name, which is why it is recommended that the assigned value is really significant.

How to apply changes
