Sets the number of significant characters to ensure the uniqueness of the GeneXus Object names.
Generators: .NET, .NET Framework, Cobol, Java, RPG
Level: Version
This property sets the maximum length of characters that will be considered when determining the uniqueness of object names. For example, if you set this property to 20, GeneXus will only consider the first 20 characters of the object names when checking their uniqueness.
The length of the meaningful object name must be between 6 and 128 characters.
The Default Value is 128.
This is a version-level property.
To make changes, you have two options: access the KB Explorer or go to the Preferences. In either of these places, click on the corresponding version, which by default has the name of the Knowledge Base. In this case, the KB is called TravelAgency.
Notes:
- When using Cobol, Visual FoxPro (dbfs) or RPG Generator, the maximum value is 7.
- Remember that there can't be two Objects with the same name, which is why it is recommended that the assigned value is really significant.
To apply the corresponding changes when the property value is configured, execute a Rebuild All.
