HowTo: Edit a project created with GeneXus Next Start

After creating a project with GeneXus Next Start, it is possible to continue updating the generated Knowledge Base using GeneXus Next Desktop or GeneXus, and executing the application in a local environment or preferred cloud.

How to work with the project created with GeneXus Next Start

Below are descriptions of several alternatives.

Edit with GeneXus Next Desktop

1. Install and run GeneXus Next Desktop.
2. Open the generated Knowledge Base in GeneXus Server:
   
   
   
   
   Note: You will find the connection details in the Versioning tab of your Project Details in GeneXus Next Start.
3. Rebuild all and run the app.
4. Follow up by editing, committing changes to GeneXus Server, or moving to your GeneXus Server.
    

Edit with GeneXus (Windows)

To import and execute the application with GeneXus, these requirements apply:

• Install GeneXus 18 (GeneXus 18 Upgrade 6 or higher).
• Depending on the chosen look & feel (WorkWithPlus, K2B Tools or SAP Fiori), some extra installation steps are required.

 After considering the requirements:

1. Run GeneXus 18 Upgrade 6 or higher.
2. Create a Knowledge Base from GeneXus Server.
   
   Note: You will find the connection details in the Versioning tab of your Project Details in GeneXus Next Start.
3. Rebuild all and run the app.
4. Follow up by editing, committing changes to GeneXus Server, or moving to your GeneXus Server.
