GeneXus Next is extensible, which means its capabilities can be expanded, customized, or improved.
The whole IDE (UI, services, business logic) is extensible, specifically tool windows, commands, objects and object parts, menu options, patterns, AI assistants, Generators, and deployment targets, among others, could be extended.
It's a set of resources to extend its User Interface, Services, or Business Logic.
Extending GeneXus Next requires tough skills on different technologies, from front to back. Some are: NodeJS, Typescript, HTML Web Components (StencilJS), and .NET 8.
Although some SDK components are open source and licensed under the Apache 2.0 license, GeneXus Next's extensibility is currently restricted to GeneXus Platform Partners.
To become a Platform Partner, contact Anibal Gonda - GeneXus Partners Manager.
Platform partners willing to extend GeneXus Next get, among other exclusive benefits, direct support from the GeneXus Development Team and Product Management including
- Dedicated Webinars, Videos, and materials
- Dedicated Google Group
- GeneXus Next Roadmap sharing and Priorities alignment
Note that the above is exclusive of GeneXus Next itself. Extending the application's capabilities by creating and sharing UI Controls (User Control object) or libraries (External Object) is fully supported.
