The concept of Layers is fundamental in working with geographic information and in its visualization in cartography (in Maps)
For example, to create Native applications of the Uber or Easy taxi style, there is a set of properties associated with the Grid control, whose Control Type property = Maps (included in a Panel object).
The values that are configured for these properties will be presented as Layers, allowing you to change the map’s behavior.
The Layers are as follows:
- Selection Layer: Allows you to change the navigation mode to select a location.
- Direction Layer: Allows the map information to be displayed as routes between points.
- Animation Layer: Allows you to draw animations between points on the map.
Below,, in the different items, there are more detailed descriptions of the Layers, use scenarios, the possibilities they offer, and the properties that allow you to achieve these objectives.
Another example of using layers is when is needed to display different vector layers of data, which are added or removed from a map.For example, to visualize in a Map, the main avenues of a city, or the administrative distribution, or certain points of interest, such as Bus Stops or hospitals, etc.To achieve this objective, must be stored the geometries that represent that data (GeoLines, geoPolygons or GeoPoints) and using the Geometry Layer functionality its possible turn data layer on or off.
In the HowTo: Group and Visualize Geographic Data Logically item there are more detailed descriptions about this Layer, use scenarios, the possibilities they offer, and the properties that allow you to achieve these objective.
